Team Building Events

This past week we had three teambuilding events for small groups that were extremely successful.

The first event we produced was an Iron Chef challenge!  All of the guests made a specialty pasta and had to produce a commercial based around that Pasta.

The next was a Chili Cook Off for 25 people. For this even, we incorporated western line dancing as part of our activities.

We also sent 32 people to a race way and strategized unique race courses for them to compete in.

We produced a line dancing challenge where we learned four different line dances from around the world and taught a globally diverse group all of the dances, while preaching, although we are different, we all can learn each other’s cultures through interactive activities.

No matter what, Starkey Productions can tailor any type of team building event to suit your company’s unique needs and character. Please contact us by clicking here to start speaking with one of our custom event producers!

Live Wedding Bands

Having live music at your wedding can really make a statement. It’s one thing to have a string quartet play during your ceremony, which we offer and book regularly, but having a band that can really rock your reception takes your wedding to the next level!

Of course, when you book a band as opposed to a DJ, there are a couple of minor trade-offs. Bands can’t play absolutely any song, and they may need a 10 minute break or two throughout the night. What we recommend is booking both a band AND and DJ. Why not get the best of both worlds and REALLY make a statement at your wedding reception?

Starkey’s roster of DJs and live wedding bands are second to none. Over the past 15 years we have recruited, developed and produced the finest wedding entertainment options that Denver and the US have to offer. The time is now to start booking your wedding entertainment because we’re already booking events well into 2013!

Ian Kleinman the Molecular Chef

Today we had our unique personal chef, Ian Kleinman, join us at the office to float some food and serve up some amazing molecular cuisine. Yes, I said “float food” and “molecular cuisine”. Ian’s cooking style is far more advanced and entertaining than most catering products. It’s a must have if you’re looking to add a wow factor to your event. Whether you’re hosting a team building event, corporate party, wedding, award show, or any other type of gathering, we strongly recommend booking Ian Kleinman.

This type of food entertainment must be seen to be understood, so check out this great video that the Denver Post did put together on Ian:

The little things…

Starkey Productions strives to remain at the pinnacle of the event production world by innovating, fostering creativity, and taking care of people. We realize that socially alert companies don’t have to be economic giants to make a gigantic impact. That is why we focus on the little things, both with our clients, as well as our vendors.

Just recently our SEO vendor was referred by us to another large client. Now he has more income to help his thriving young business grow even more. In turn, we trust that he will remain dedicated and loyal to our company – as he grows we grow. This is just one small example of how we conduct business.

We believe in the truth that doing good is good for business. The small things matter. What goes around comes around and we don’t mind getting the ball rolling!

Click here to contact us and see how we might be able to help each other out on future endeavors.

Collector’s Choice Gala

Starkey Productions helped honor four decades of outstanding support by the Anschutz family at Collectors’ Choice 31.  Philip, Nancy, Sarah Hunt and Sue Anschutz-Rodgers have each played a vital role at the DAM as dedicated board members and committee chairs. The family has generously loaned important paintings from their acclaimed Western Art collection and contributed to the museum’s growth and progress in countless ways.  We are proud to honor the Anschutz family at this year’s gala.

Collectors’ Choice, the Denver Art Museum’s annual black-tie fundraising event, included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Frederic C. Hamilton Building followed by a seated dinner in Ponti Hall in the North Building.

Starkey Productions created a custom performance on the stairs of the Frederic C. Hamilton Building for the Anschutz family and 450 guests with an elegant rendition of “Le Jazz Hot” Victor/Victoria performed by the one and only Natalie Oliver-Atherson accompanied by six professional tap dancers and a soulful jazz band.  All performers were dressed in elegant Joey Santos custom designs reminiscent of Yves Saint Laurent Haute couture collection which is expected to be on exhibit March – July of 2012.

Super star entertainers John McEuen, a founding member of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Celine Dion also surprised guests with wonderful songs at the end of the evening!

Planner Comment After the Event:

“Here in the wake of Collectors’ Choice 31, all I am hearing are high praises for the amazing jobs all of you accomplished.  Thank you so much for being a part of the event, working so hard, and for making my transition into the position an easy one.  Collectors’ Choice has truly been one of the most rewarding events I’ve ever been a part of, and every single one of you and your staff were the reason why.

I can’t thank you enough.  You’re the best.”

Colorado to Host the 2022 Winter Olympics?

The Denver Post announced this morning that Governor Hickenlooper and Mayor Hancock have officially created a committee to explore the possibility of bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Colorado won the bid for the Winter games in 1976, but voters turned it down by passing a measure that blocked the use of tax money for funds.

Surely the Governor and Mayor have learned from the past and have their committee exploring all of the financial options to make the olympics happen in Colorado. Starkey Productions is extremely excited about this possibility, not only from an internal perspective, but also for the state as a whole.

The Salt Lake City games in 2002 raised billions of dollars for the city, along with creating thousands of jobs. Needless to say, many of these jobs were created within the hospitality, tourism, and events sector. Colorado would be the perfect setting for a Winter Olympics and we encourage you to CONTACT THE GOVERNOR if you feel the same way!
